  1. Dorm nights: For me number one isn’t a particular moment, but the countless moments my friends and I had in the dorm. From watching Champions League matches to late night talks: every evening was different (Fridolin)

  1. Hot chocolate: After finishing our Pizzas at the restaurant in Tramoore, we returned to Liam’s house where his mother prepared hot chocolate with marshmallows and cookies for us. I also met their cute cat, which sat on my lap while I was drinking my hot chocolate. (Fridolin)

  1. One thing that really stood out to me in Ireland was how friendly and talkative people In my country, people can be a bit reserved, but in Ireland, my host mom would start conversations with strangers on the street or in shops. The Irish students were also a lot nicer than the other exchange students in the dorms from Spain or Germany. It felt so welcoming, and I think this friendliness made our trip even better. (Flora)
  2. For me this trip was especially cool because I got the chance to stay with a host family for this week. My host student Niall and his parents were very nice, and I felt very welcome from the first minute on. I think this is really something special, because you can experience daily life in a different country and with different family surroundings. Sometimes it´s the small things that make you notice the differences. (Jakob E.)

  1. On Sunday after Collect, we had the option to choose between going to a church, a Quacker Meeting or to go to the study hall and to study. I decided to join the Quaker meeting because I have never been to one. Like at Collect, the first thing was to sit for a few minutes in silence. Afterwards we went outside and went for a “Nature Walk”. We got a list, and our task was to tick everything off that we saw on our walk. Our walk ended in the park, where we got hot chocolate. We still had some time after we got back, so we joined a real Quaker meeting. In the room were about 5 people sitting in complete silence. I think this was a great experience learning about something new. (Armin)

  1. Baking scones: This was also a great experience, especially because I have never had scones before. They were delicious, I did not expect them to be so fluffy and sweet. I will definitely try to make them again. (Leonora)

  1. An aspect that that I found interesting was their relationship with England. My host family thought of England as a dangerous place, and I think it’s really interesting to see how the history between these countries still impacts the people that live there. (Leopold)
  2. And for us Students in 6b this trip was an amazing opportunity for bonding. Even though we have all been a class for a semester now, there’s always room for improvement on how close we are as a class. (Ben)

  1. All the people are way nicer in Ireland than in Austria. Irish people all seem nice and welcoming. One time I fell asleep in the train and a women woke me up just because she was concerned, I would miss the train stop. In Austria you couldn’t imagine that. People usually mind their own business. (Hannah)

  1. On Saturday I went together with Alex and his dad onto Bray Head which is a hill with 241 meters. For them it was a mountain but yea😂We walked up on a small mountain track. Many people were in short sleeves and shorts. (I was wearing my jacket😂) It was wonderful up there with a nice breeze. But the funny part was the way down😂. Alex was running down the hill in quite a tempo I followed but to my surprise also his 55 year old dad really ran down at the same speed. He jumped over tree trunks over slippery stones, and it didn’t harm him in any kind. I was really impressed. But when we were nearly back down again, we ran over a slippery and wet meadow and then we slipped, and his trousers were really dirty. (Noah M.)
