Dr. Katja Sturm-Schnabl – Zeitzeugin
On 09 November 2023 all three classes of Year 5 had the unique opportunity to meet and talk to Dr. Katja Sturm-Schnabl, a contemporary witness to the NS-regime in Austria. Born in 1936 she was a child when she was deported with her family and she spent the following years until the end of the Second World War in a forced labour camp in Bavaria. Dr. Katja Sturm-Schnabl was persecuted by the NS-regime because she was a Carinthian Slovene. The students were very engaged. They asked a lot of interesting questions and were able to gain a deeper understanding of what life was like under the NS-regime.
