European Day of Languages @ GIBS

On Wednesday the 23rd of September, Year 1 and Year 8 students celebrated the European Day of Languages. Despite the current situation, the students participated in an outdoor opening ceremony led by Ellie Bauer. Afterwards, Year 8 students taught Year 1 students – this involved outdoor games, competitions, dancing and solving puzzles. It was a wonderful experience – the older students passing down knowledge and instruction to the younger ones and building relationships with each other. And while the school language is English, this was an occasion during which the school yard was filled with a joyous mix of languages from around the world.
