Project Kinderleicht!
After two years, three in-school workshops and two field trips, the project Kinderleicht comes to an end.
The project “Kinderleicht!” showed how lightweight construction in vehicle technology helps to protect the environment. Class 3c/4c in Physics took part in this project from 2023-2025.
There were three in-school workshops on the subject of lightweight materials, in which we discussed why lighter cars are better, how to produce light and stable materials and how 3D printing helps with this.
The project included two field trips: first to FH Joanneum and the Institute of Automotive Engineering and then to Hintsteiner, a company which produces lightweight materials made of Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymers, so it was possible to see lightweight materials in action.
A fun hands-on project that allowed us to see real life applications of theoretical physical concepts.
